If travelling from one of London Airports (Heathrow, Gatwick,

to compare prices and times.
-
Main coach route: Bristol <-> London Victoria
-
Main train route: Bristol Temple Meads <-> London Paddington
For more information see the info at this external site (not connected
with the meeting) or Visit Bristol.
It's worth checking for flights to Birmingham Airport and Cardiff
Airport as alternatives to airports in London. It's quicker to get to
Bristol from these places.
Accommodation
To keep organisation to a minimum, you will need to arrange your own
accommodation if you plan to stay overnight.
There are many hotels in Central Bristol. The following budget hotels are in the centre, all within 5 minutes walk of each other.
Prices as of 8 May.
The cheapest options (starting around 16GBP per night)
-
Youth Hostel (very central)
-
University Summer Accommodation
-
Hawthorns (closest - 5 minutes walk) - ideal for people who
want to stay longer at low cost and don't mind basic
accommodation (shared facilities). It's in a great
location.
As of 30/April/2008 they have plenty of availability for the
week of the meeting. There is a minimum charge of 7
nights, but it's only 12 GBP/night so it is cheaper to pay
for 7 nights there and not use them all, than stay in a
hotel for less time (I've spoken to their office and they
say that it's fine to do that -- their website says "minimum
stay" but it's really "minimum charge"). Weekend departure
is OK. The cost for bedlinen+towel is 27GBP extra, or you
can bring your own.
-
Goldney Hall (10 minutes walk)
-
Manor Hall (10 minutes walk)
