However, doing so seems to sometimes leave MB1 acting strangely on the Win95 desktop. When this happens, double-clicks seems to have the effect of a right-button (bringing up a popup menu) and left-clicking elsewhere on the desktop won't get rid of the menu. However, it seems that clicking both buttons at once a few times clears up this problem. Has anyone else seen this? Does Win95 think the both-buttons thing is something special that I don't know about? And if so, can I turn it off? I'm new to the list; sorry if this has been covered before -- a quick glance didn't find it in the mail archives. -- scott evans gse@his.com http://www.his.com/~gse From owner-ntemacs-users@june Thu Jan 16 02:23:55 1997 X-VM-v5-Data: ([nil nil nil nil nil nil nil nil nil] [nil "Thu" "16" "January" "1997" "10:33:13" "+0100" "Helmut EYSSELE" "eyssele@bkmf3.bk.bosch.de" nil "26" "Re: MB2/Win95 weirdness" "^From:" nil nil "1" nil nil nil nil] nil) Received: from joker.cs.washington.edu (joker.cs.washington.edu [128.95.1.42]) by june.cs.washington.edu (8.8.3+CSE/7.2ju) with SMTP id CAA11295 for ; Thu, 16 Jan 1997 02:23:55 -0800 Received: from june.cs.washington.edu (june.cs.washington.edu [128.95.1.4]) by joker.cs.washington.edu (8.6.12/7.2ws+) with ESMTP id CAA29522 for ; Thu, 16 Jan 1997 02:23:42 -0800 Received: from mail.pop-frankfurt.com (mail.ipf.de [194.152.32.5]) by june.cs.washington.edu (8.8.3+CSE/7.2ju) with ESMTP id BAA09538 for ; Thu, 16 Jan 1997 01:40:27 -0800 Received: from frnext1a.fr.bosch.de ([143.1.1.145]) by mail.pop-frankfurt.com (8.7.5/8.7.3) with SMTP id KAA06490 for ; Thu, 16 Jan 1997 10:39:22 +0100 (MET) Received: from si4640.si.bosch.de by frnext1a.fr.bosch.de with smtp (Smail3.1.28.1 #9) id m0vkoCz-000HKPC; Thu, 16 Jan 97 10:34 MET Received: from bkh0001.bk.bosch.de by si4640.si.bosch.de with SMTP id AA09368 (5.67b8+/IDA-1.5-DNgate-2.0-11 for ntemacs-users@cs.washington.edu); Thu, 16 Jan 1997 10:34:49 GMT Received: from bkmf3.bk.bosch.de by bkh0001.bk.bosch.de with SMTP (1.38.193.4/16.2) id AA00830; Thu, 16 Jan 1997 10:36:35 +0100 Received: by bkmf3 (5.x/SMI-SVR4) id AA00795; Thu, 16 Jan 1997 10:33:13 +0100 Message-Id: <9701160933.AA00795@bkmf3> X-Sun-Charset: US-ASCII X-Charset: ISO_8859-1 X-Char-Esc: 29 From: eyssele@bkmf3.bk.bosch.de (Helmut EYSSELE) To: ntemacs-users@cs.washington.edu, gse@his.com Subject: Re: MB2/Win95 weirdness Date: Thu, 16 Jan 1997 10:33:13 +0100 Scott Evans wrote: > I'm using NTemacs on Win95 with a MS 2-button mouse, so I have to push > both buttons at once to do any MB2 actions. I noticed that clicking the right button on the desktop followed by clicking the left button on the desktop clears up this problem. I have no workaround to avoid this effect. Does anyone know how this effect can be avoided? I couldn't find a patch on their web site (though that definitely doesn't mean one isn't there), and this is the only thing I could find with MS's crappy Knowledge Base search engine; it's pretty old. > LEFT MOUSE BUTTON CLICK ACTS LIKE RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON CLICK > > Article ID: Q136592 > Creation Date: 11-SEP-1995 > Revision Date: 30-AUG-1996 > > The information in this article applies to: > Microsoft Windows 95 > > SYMPTOMS > > When you press the left mouse button, Windows 95 may respond as if you > pressed the right mouse button.
