About
GNUjump is part of the GNU project.
GNUjump is a clone of the simple yet addictive game Xjump, adding new features like multiplaying, unlimited FPS, smooth floor falling, themable graphics, sounds, replays, ...
The goal in this game is to jump to the next floor trying not to fall down. As you go upper in the Falling Tower the floors will fall faster. Try to survive longer get upper than anyone. It might seem too simple but once you've tried you'll realize how addictive this is.

11/08/2008 GNU Jump 1.0.5 is out!
I got tired of waiting for our graphic artist to polish our new theme so I decided to make a new release before its done. It will hopefully be included in GNU Jump 1.1.
The new features include:
- New special fx, the players leave a trail behind and, in OpenGl mode, they also have some motion blur.
- The background and the fences now fall too at different rates, giving more inmersion.
- gettext translation system.
- Can control the replay speed with the cursor keys when watching it.
- Some bugfixes.
- Updated license to GPL v3
The highscores page has been updated too, sorry to all those who have been sending records for the delay. As I have less time to update the list (any volunteers?) I have decided to increase the minimum highscore to 300. There are some new amazing highscores on the list, you must checkout.
The last new is that we are now using Bazaar as revision control system instead of the old CVS. The instructions on how to get the latest source have been updated in the download page.
Hope you enjoy it :)
6/10/2007 Some news
Hi,
Once more I have to say sorry for the delay in the next release. The guy making the theme is being a bit slow and I don't have currently the time to do it by myself.
On the other hand, there are some good news. Joe Rayhawk has submitted an impressive new highscore that leads him to the top of the chart with a score of 729. Some othe highscore have been updated.
I have also opened a new Add-ons section where you can find some contributed material. Thanks to all the contributors and I encourage you to continue sending me some great material. Thanks.
Enjoy!
18/05/2007 Apologizes
Hello, I just wante to apologize for the long delay the new version is having. The code is alredy done (it has been for some months) but we are having trouble to find time to finish the new graphics.
There are also some news: two new cool replays have been uploaded (hey, have anyone thought about recording one and uploading it to Youtube? I would put a big link at the webpage :)).
Oh, and I wanted to announce the existence of the mailing lists, which you can use to post replays, questions, suggestions, bugs (for bugs and suggestions there is also a better manager at Savannah) and anything that you want (well, no SPAM please :p).
Check them here.
Hi! I just wanted you to know that the next version of GNUjump is being delayed for two main reasons: 1. I am lazy. 2. Exams occupy most of my time. However, there have been some work done, check the CVS to see the new FX :) I will make a new realease as soon as I finish my exams and I find a nice artist to make a cool new GNU inspired theme (please e-mail me if you are willing to help). I also recommend you to check the highscores page. Pulsewidth has sent us a replay wich is simply amazing and almost imposible to beat. Now downloads and CVS work ok again ^^, Ubuntu and OSX packages have been added for download.
SDLjump has become part of the GNU project and I have decided that it would should now be called GNUjump. Being part of the GNU project implies a technical and ideological guarantee and there are some important benefits for both users and developers. I hope you like the change.
The whole site has been redesigned -the old one had a very untidy code and did not show correctly in all browsers. I also want to announce that there will be a new release in some weeks with some small new features, bugs solved, and some gnufication done. I'd like to change the default theme to a new one starred by the famous levitating gnu. Maybe some artist could help me with the character animation and other artistic topics.03/02/2007 Some news
