4.6 Request Processing Hints — raddb/hints

The raddb/hints file is used to modify the contents of the incoming request depending on the username. For a detailed description of this, See Hints.

The file contains data in Matching Rule format (see Matching Rule).

Notice, that versions of GNU Radius up to 1.0 allowed to use only a subset of attributes in the check list of a hints entry, namely:

• Suffix
• Prefix
• Group
• User-ID

This requirement has been removed in version 1.0.
