ほかの出版社からの自由な書籍
はじめに
わたしたちはこれまで長い間、自由な文書の出版を支持してきました(自由であり無償ということではありません)。自由ソフトウェアは自由な文書を必要とします。なぜならば、ソフトウェアとともに文書も複製、変更、再配布をするのに自由でなければならないからです。自由であるためには、文書は自由な文書ライセンスでリリースされなければなりません。
実際わたしたちは、いくつもの自由な文書を自分たち自身で出版しています。わたしたちの書籍の印刷されたコピーを注文することができますし、わたしたちのftpサイトの/gnu/Manualsからダウンロードしたり、オンラインで閲覧することも可能です。
最近は、いくつかの商業出版社も自由な書籍の出版を始めました。(わたしたちの書籍のように、それらの書籍は自由であり、商業的に印刷されたものが販売されています。) このページでは、わたしたちは当方で把握した自由な書籍を一覧にしています。もし、ここに載っていない自由な書籍をご存じでしたら、電子メールでわたしたち<free-books@gnu.org>にお知らせください。

- 印刷された版はGNU FDLを正しく適用できていません。GNU FDLのコピーがありませんし、ライセンス表示が完全ではありません。次の刷でO'Reillyはこれらの問題を修正します。
